Recently, the General Office of the China Association for Science and Technology and the General Office of the Ministry of Education officially announced the implementation Plan for the 2023 "Talent Plan".
In 2023, the scope of implementation of the "Talent Program" will be further expanded, and the number of colleges and universities will be increased to 58, covering 25 cities, and the plan is to train more than 1,700 high school students with excellent character and academic performance. They will go to Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University and other first-class universities, under the guidance of well-known scientists in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer and other basic disciplines of natural science, to participate in one-year scientific research, academic discussion and scientific research practice.
Purpose: Select a group of high school students with excellent character and learning ability to enter the university, and participate in scientific research, academic discussion and scientific research practice under the guidance of famous scientists in the field of natural science basic disciplines, so that middle school students can feel the charm of famous teachers, experience the process of scientific research, stimulate scientific interest, improve innovation ability, and establish scientific aspirations. In this way, a group of outstanding middle school students with subject expertise and innovation potential will be found, and the link between middle school education and university education will be promoted to establish an effective mode for colleges and middle schools to jointly discover and train young talents in scientific and technological innovation, and promote the normalization and institutionalization of joint training of top talents in basic disciplines between colleges and middle schools.
